We are currently The Freaky Frew Five (FFF) although that name will surely change as it didn't recieve much support.
After starting to get desperate trying to find a motor and almost settling for a small hatchback (not good for a team of five!) we got lucky and spotted an ad on Autotrader online and went and viewed it that night and bought it on the spot before anyone else could get there hands on it!
.......And what could we not snatch from the previous owners hands any quicker?
A '93 K reg Toyota Carina E 2.0GL!
This bad boy was a bit bashed up and scraped and scratched on the outside, but inside was immaculate. Everything was still in perfect working order - Leccy windows, front and rear, leccy sunroof, radio tape deck (vintaage!) and the upholstery was gleaming.
It was only used by a housewife who done the shopping and school runs and as a result it's mileage reflected that.
And this is where we started getting really lucky!
Our new 17 year old beast only had 78000 miles on it - practically making it on a par with a 7 year old! (well we're looking at it like this anyway!)
Not only that, it had 3 months tax left and a quarter of a tank of petrol.
And you wouldn't believe what we payed for this baby!?
165 Smackers!
Take away the price of the petrol and the tax that could be cashed and we got ourselves a 7 year old beast of a motor for less than a Ton. Brilliant!
Now we just need to think of a theme for this beaut and we'll bring the bodywork up to the same standards as the rest of this topper!
